Frank Ullrich

Frank Ullrich (born 24 January 1958 in Trusetal) is a former German biathlete and current trainer of the German national team.

Already Ulrich's father was referee for biathletics. His first appearance was in 1967 at the GDR Children Championships. In 1972, he reached second place over 5 km at the Spartakiad, in 1975 he became Youth World Champion in relay. He gained a bronze medal at the 1976 Winter Olympics with the 4 x 7.5 km relay team. At the 1980 Winter Olympics he repeated this success and furthermore was awarded a silver medal over 20 km and a gold medal over 10 km.

In 1987 he became trainer of the GDR national team, and after the German reunification, national trainer for the sprint.
