Frank Madigan

Frank Madigan was sheriff of Alameda County, CA in 1963-1975. Thomas Lafayette Houchins Jr. served under him during the Berkeley, CA protests. During the People's Park protests, Madigan authorized use of shotguns against demonstrators and one demonstrator, James Rector, was killed. In the 1970 sheriff election, Madigan was opposed by Stewart Albert of the Youth International Party.
