Francofonte is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Syracuse in the Italian region Sicily, located about 170 km southeast of Palermo and about 40 km northwest of Syracuse. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 12,684 and an area of 74.0 km².^[1]

Francofonte borders the following municipalities: Buccheri, Carlentini, Lentini, Militello in Val di Catania, Vizzini.
