Franco-Seychellois

Franco-Seychellois are people of French origin living in the Seychelles. They form the second-largest ethnic group.

Originally the French were colonizers. They introduced African and Malagasy slaves to the Seychelles. They were allowed to retain their culture after the British took control of the Seychelles.

Franco-Seychellois are employed in all sectors, including teaching, Government jobs and businesspeople. They have had a gread deal to do with the income of the Seychelles.

The majority speak Creole, but French and English are also spoken by most. Of all religiously affiliated, the majority are Roman Catholic with the ramaining being other Christian. The rest of the population are non-religious.
