Francisco de Sande

Francisco de Sande was the third governor of the Philippines from August 25, 1575 - April 1580.
A native of Caceres, served as attorney, criminal judge, and auditor in Mexico. He succeed Labezares on August 25, 1575. He established the city of Nueva Caceres. During his time, the first Franciscan priests arrived in 1577. He also commissioned an expedition to Borneo in 1578. He also became an auditor in the Audiencia of Mexico.
