Francis Bourgeois

Sir Peter Francis Bourgeois (1756 - 1811) was a landscape painter and court painter to George III. When he died he left his collection to Dulwich College, and £10,000 to build a gallery for them. His gift created England's first public art gallery, the Dulwich Picture Gallery.
