François Perron

François Perron is a French ballet dancer, choreographer and teacher.

He trained at the Paris Opera Ballet School under Claude Bessy. After graduating he went on to dance with the ballet of La Scala in Milan where he was invited by Maurice Bejart to dance in his Ballet du Sieclé XXe. He was a principal dancer with the Northern Ballet of England and Ballet du Nord. In 1984 he danced in the United States at the Joffrey Ballet which led him to the New York City Ballet where he danced for six years. In 1993 he danced briefly with the American Ballet Theater. He is currently the managing artistic director of Studio Maestro in New York City. He is the nephew of the famous French Paris Opera etoile Lycette Darsonval (Alice Perron) that originated Symphony in C (Palais de Cristal) by Balanchine

The classical training program he directs, Studio Maestro, is in the midst of New York City. There, Mr. Perron oversees and teaches in an eight level program. The other faculty include Nadege Hottier, Deborah Wingert, Jennifer McKelvey and Marina Stayistefska. Guest faculty include various New York City and American Ballet Theater dancers. In addition to the enrolled students, some students from SAB and from The Jacqueline Kennedy Onnasis School are permitted to audit. The well attended, annual Spring Gala Performance includes excerpts of classics by Balanchine and Petipa, as well as original work by Danielle Baundentistal and other contemporary masters.
