Framlingham College is an independent boarding school in England. It serves both boarding and day pupils of both sexes from four to eighteen years of age.
The College is situated in the town of Framlingham, near Woodbridge, Suffolk. The original school building, an imposing example of Victorian era Mock Gothic architecture, faces the twelfth century Framlingham Castle across a large, shallow lake called The Mere.
The school was founded in 1864 as the Albert Memorial College in memory of Queen Victoria's husband, Albert, Prince Consort, whose statue takes pride of place at the front of the College.
Brandeston Hall, Framlingham College Junior School, is located in the nearby village of Brandeston, and is named after the Tudor/Neo-Tudor manor house that forms its main building. Brandeston Hall is a war memorial.
Famous past pupils include WWII pilot Percy Charles Pickard, ex-Busted/Fightstar singer Charlie Simpson, Presenter Dr David Bull, Essex Cricketer Ashley Cowan and US dance music chart topper Nigel Champion of Njoi. Bryan Pearson, a former actor and the star of the 1959 film Teenagers from Outer Space, also attended the school.
