Foxxy Cleopatra

Foxxy Cleopatra, played by Beyonce Knowles, was the female counterpart to Austin Powers in the third Austin Powers film; Austin Powers in Goldmember. Her character is a parody of characters in “blaxploitation” films such as Foxy Brown and Cleopatra Jones. As such, her clothing style is reminiscent of the disco era and her hair is in the “afro” style of the time. Foxxy frequently uses the slang term "sugar" and shouts “Sha-zam!” when delivering a blow in a fight. One of her memorable lines is “You have the right to remain sexy, sugar!”

Like the previous film, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, the plot involved time travel. Austin is in pursuit of Doctor Evil and his accomplice, Goldmember, through time. At Goldmember’s discotheque in 1975, Austin encounters Foxxy, who is one of Goldmembers beautiful girls, where she is performing (singing a piece derived from a number of songs by KC and the Sunshine Band). After Foxxy completes her song, she and Austin speak through an intermediary played by Nathan Lane, a spoof of a similar scene in Caccia alla volpeGoldmember and serving him and he finds his captured father lying in a bed with some of Goldmember's girls. The two then join forces to find the villains and rescue Power’s father, who was being held captive by Goldmember.

Unlike the previous two Austin Powers films, Foxxy Cleopatra did not sexually seduce Powers on screen, although it is clear from their conversation in the disco that the two characters had a romantic liaison sometime in the past.
