The war was not fought (technically speaking) with the British crown but with the British East-India Company. The Company was taken over only after the First War of Indian Independence in 1857.

Waynad was under Pazazzhi Raja. The British had to fight another war with Pazazzhi Raja to gain control of Waynad. Chanakyathegreat 16:39, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
