Forty foot: Well, This...is...interesting. I personally think that this is not notable enough for it's own article, but it does seem to have enough historical signifigance to be placed in another. But then again, it IS about a bathing house... MajorB 22:42, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)
I think it's interesting, and contains enough information. Keep --Senca 22:47, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Keep: The Martello Tower is enshrined in history (not just Joyce, but Flann O'Brien tried to climb it), and I think this is the area where Bloom goes for "The Bathers." Geogre 00:32, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Definitely keep. If Bloom was here, it needs an article, LOL. My only minor quibble is that I can't tell from the article (or the website) whether it's properly one word or two. Antandrus 01:22, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- If the primary notability is the tower, why not merge/redir to Martello Tower? Niteowlneils 14:43, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Definitely keep. Interesting Article and bound to excite people. Auburn 20:10 11 Sep 2004 (GMT)
- keep.because
1.historical - one of the only remnants of british army occupation in republic of Ireland; 2.literary - Joyce lived here and had his character - Buck Mulligan take his weekly ablution in 'fortyfoot hole'and from where Stephen Dedalus set out on walk to Dublin; 3.health - open sea area where people swim every day of the year for the good of their health, unique at this latitude.
- Keep. Move to a more appropriate name. ("Forty Foot" gives forty foot long list of google hits) Mikkalai 22:07, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- I think it's just too short and not good enough to be it's own article. Perhaps it can be incorperated into something else? MajorB 22:11, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Keep, though possibly under a different title. I don't see any problem with its short length, although additional relevant material is always welcome. -- Jmabel 08:41, Sep 12, 2004 (UTC)
