Talk:Ford Lightning

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm not sure I understand why this is being forced to redirect to Ford F-Series, which is a general listing of base information about the series. This is a much more detailed and informative page, especially when compared to the small two paragraphs tacked onto the end of Ford F-Series. Other notable speciality vehicles of the same caliber have their own specific pages, such as BMW M3 and GMC Syclone. (Note: last change was made by me, but under 69.250.247.221)

[edit] Link Removal

The link:

was removed because the information contained at that site offers no other information than what is already in the article. Links should contain useful and additional information that an article does not already have. If others disagree please discuss. FrankWilliams 17:14, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't think the link should be removed. True the wikipedia page does provide some specifications but it does not entail all of the specs provided here by Ford. rfriends

I think we should wait and see what other comments arise. If no one objects too stenuously we can always add the link back. FrankWilliams 18:39, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

I object to the link being added. The material on the site is not note worthy. While I do recognize that the "fordlightningspecs.html" page was recently created (did not exist when I removed the link), this is public information that can found at a multitude of sites. The domain name was created on 29 AUG, one day before being posted here, giving the impression that the poster is the domain owner seeking publicity. While I wish the site the best of luck, it simply provides nothing new or substantial on this topic to be considered postworthy. Rurik 03:05, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
