Forumer is a forum and blog hosting service that provides phpBB 2 and IPB 1.3 hosting. The service was created in 2003 under the name FreeIB; later that year, the service was sold, as the site was not profitable and the original owner was not capable of growing the site.
In 2004, the new management deemed the existing software (and hardware) outdated and not powerful enough, thus an Angel Investor was found and a team of programmers were hired. The site was re-coded and re-launched under a new name called Forumer.
After the improvements the popularity of the site skyrocketed, resulting in almost 3000 percent user growth to date. Forumer service has been known for its support forums, where many volunteers (both existing customers and others) offer their expertise by helping members who need it. The support forums are administrated by Forumer owner "Limez", support team leader "awebb", and the fSupport (Forumer Support) team.[1]
There are many other "divisions" of Forumer, outside the main forum hosting service, including "FileHive" a free video/image hosting service, and fMods (Forumer Modifications Centre) which provides forum skins and modifications to Forumer users.
Forumer is proud of it's additions to the box-standard phpBB and IPB, which include a multitude of skins, a custom portal modification, domain name support, ad removal and META Tag Customization.
