Fortec Motorsport

Fortec Motorsport, or Fortec Motorsport Ltd. is a motor-racing team, that races in Formula Three, Formula Renault and most recently Formula BMW. The team was established in 1996 by Richard Dutton, who is still the present owner of the team.
Past drivers for the team have included Juan Pablo Montoya, Gianmaria Bruni, Danny Watts, Jamie Green, James Rossiter, Mike Conway, Fabio Carbone and perhaps most notably 2007's Renault F1 race driver Heikki Kovalainen.
Fortec's achievements include multiple wins in all three current championships. In 2002 Danny Watts won the team the Formula Renault UK championship, with Jamie Green following close behind in second. In the same year Fabio Carbone won the prestigious Formula 3 Marlboro Masters at Circuit Zandvoort. The next championship win came in 2004 with Mike Conway dominating the Renault championships, a season in which Paul di Resta finished third.
The team, originally based in Grantham, moved to its current location in Daventry in 1999.
In the 2006 season the team had competitiors in all three championships with Yelmer Buurman and Stuart Hall competing in Formula 3. James Sutton, Sam Bird, Sebastian Hohenthal and Fabio Onidi competed in the Formula Renault championships. Completing the team's line-up in Formula BMW UK is Henry Arundel, Niall Breen, Euan Hankey. For the final race in the British Formula 3 championship, Greg Mansell and Leo Mansell (both sons of Nigel Mansell) competed for the Fortec Team, having spent the rest of the season racing in the Formula BMW UK championship.
So far this year the team collected wins in all three championships with Yelmer Burrman taking two wins on his way to 4th overall in his Formula 3 campaign. Sutton, Hohenthal and Bird all have taken wins in the Formula Renault UK championships. And both Breen and Hankey have both won in Formula BMW.
Breen and Hohenthal have produced the highlight for the team's 2006 season by taking their repesctive championships. Breen taking the Formula BMW championship at the categories penultimate round at Knockhill, Fife, and Hohenthal winning the final race of the year at Silverstone, Northampton, to take the Formula Renault UK Championship.
Alongside this, Arundel won the Rookie Championship within the Formula BMW series, and Onidi won the Graduate Championship that runs within the Formula Renault UK series.
