Fort Campbell North is a census-designated place located in Christian County, Kentucky which contains most of the housing for the Fort Campbell Army base. As of the 2000 census, the base had a total population of 14,338.

Fort Campbell North is located at 36°39'13" North, 87°27'35" West (36.653631, -87.459716)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 10.3 km² (4.0 mi²). 10.3 km² (4.0 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water. Please note that the CDP only consists of the main cantonment that contains the base housing, and not the entire Fort Campbell reservation.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there are 14,338 people, 2,842 households, and 2,768 families residing on the base. The population density is 1,394.4/km² (3,614.2/mi²). There are 2,967 housing units at an average density of 288.6/km² (747.9/mi²). The racial makeup is 58.56% White, 25.83% Black or African American, 0.99% Native American, 1.73% Asian, 1.03% Pacific Islander, 7.11% from other races, and 4.76% from two or more races. 13.84% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 2,842 households out of which 87.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 88.6% are married couples living together, 7.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 2.6% are non-families. 2.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 0.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.78 and the average family size is 3.81.

The age distribution, which is typical of a military base, is: 35.6% under the age of 18, 31.1% from 18 to 24, 32.4% from 25 to 44, 0.8% from 45 to 64, and 0.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 21 years, which is also typical for a military base. For every 100 females there are 157.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 205.6 males. The sex distribution can also be explained by Fort Campbell's military status.

The median income for a household on the base is $26,755, and the median income for a family is $26,632. Males have a median income of $19,846 versus $18,478 for females. The per capita income for the base is $10,319. 13.1% of the population and 11.2% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 15.9% of those under the age of 18 and 0.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
