Fort Awesome

Fort Awesome was an underground music venue in New York City. Run out of a ground-floor apartment and basement at 490 Morgan Avenue in the East Williamsburg Industrial Park neighborhood of North Brooklyn, it was active from 2002 to 2004. Fort Awesome was a DIY venue operated by the inhabitants of the apartment who adhered to a strict policy of every show being free so as to promote new music to a wider audience.
The styles of music featured most at Fort Awesome shows were pop, experimental noise, and punk.
