Form of rock songs

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rock songs all have different forms. The basic things of the form are:

Intro - This is the start of the song, where only instruments are playing.

Verse - This is the part where it tells the story. Each verse has different lyrics.

Chorus - This happens after or before the verse. Each time it is sung, the lyrics are the same.

Bridge - This is normally a solo part for the instruments.

Outro - This is the end of the song.

Not all songs have these things in it, but most of them follow these. The normal form would be:

Intro - Verse - Chorus - Verse - Chorus - Bridge - Chorus x2 or 3 - Outro

Pop songs sometimes have the same form, but it can vary quite a lot.
