Forestville, New South Wales

Forestville is a suburb of Sydney, Australia. It is located in the Northern Beaches and is 13 km NNE from the Sydney CBD. It is bound to the east and west by bushland and to the south by Middle Harbour.

Primarily, the suburb has been comprised of low density housing. However, with the recent expansion of the Forestville Shopping Centre and the construction of medium density apartments along the edge of Warringah Road, this has gradually began to change. There are many schools in and around Forestville. The nearest high school is Killarney Heights High School, but there are other high schools nearby such as Forest High School which is near to Frenchs Forest and Davidson High School which is located in Davidson. Local businesses thrive in the recently redeveloped local shopping centre and nearby Forestway shopping centre. Flora and fauna thrive in nearby national parks such as Davidson National Park and Garigal National Park.

Sporting facilities in Forestville include sporting fields and netball courts which local teams such as Forest Killarney Soccer Club, Forest Killarney Netball Club and Forest Rugby Club call home ground. There is a Returned Services League Centre nearby called The Forest Club. The suburb is in the Warringah Federal Electorate and the electorate generally is a safe Liberal Party seat, as is common in Northern parts of Sydney. Forestville is home to the Federal MP for Warringah, Tony Abbott.

In the 2001 Census, the population of Forestville was estimated to be 7 510, comprising 6 033 people above and 1 286 below the age of 15.
