Forestport Tower

Forestport Tower was a guyed tower used for VLF and LF-transmission near Forestport, New York. Forestport Tower was built in 1950. It had a height of 1280 ft (390.1 metres). Forestport Tower was used for experimental transmissions in the LF and VLF-range, like for first tests of LORAN-C and Omega Navigation System. On April 21st, 1998 it was demolished by explosives.
