"For You Blue" was a Beatles song written by George Harrison for his wife Pattie Boyd, who would be the subject of many of his love songs, including "It's All Too Much" and, possibly, "Something".

"For You Blue" was the B-side to "The Long and Winding Road" (in the U.S.) and the eleventh track on The Beatles' final LP, Let It Be. "For You Blue" was listed with "The Long and Winding Road" as a double-sided hit when the single hit number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1970.

The song features John Lennon on the slide guitar, as indicated by Harrison's saying "Go, Johnny, go" in the middle of the song, and the fact Lennon played the slide guitar while recording this song in the Let it Be movie. One can also hear mention of Elmore James ("Elmore James got nothing on this baby"), whose song "Madison Blues" sounds very similar to "For You Blue". At the start of the Let It Be version, Lennon can be heard saying, "The Queen says no to pot-smoking FBI members."

The song was originally titled "George's Blues" while it was in its infancy early on in the Let it Be rehearsals. It was formally recorded on January 25, 1969, though Harrison re-recorded the vocal a year later.

Paul McCartney played this song during the Royal Albert Hall tribute concert to George Harrison following his death in 2001.
