Fong Kui Lun

Fong Kui Lun (Chinese: 方贵伦) (born 28 September 1946) is a Malaysian politician and a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP).

He is the Member of Parliament for Bukit Bintang and the DAP treasurer.

He was arrested by the police on 1 March 2005 for distributing leaflets advocating re-instatement of local council elections at Dataran Merdeka, along with 5 other DAP leaders.

Fong Kui Lun's re-election in 2004 was marred by an ugly and long recount. In the same election, Wan Azizah, contesting in Permatang Pauh, also had a recount which took 5 hours less despite 3614 more ballots cast. However, Fong was declared the winner in both counts.

In 2005, Bung Moktar Radin, BN MP for Kinabatangan uttered "Fuck" in parliament. After Bung apologized at the request of the speaker of the house, Fong along with fellow DAP MPs, Kerk Kim Hock and Tan Kok Wai left the house. Bung proclaimed that they were rude and a shouting match arose until Fong Po Kuan (unrelated to Fong) raised a point of order resulting in the Speaker adjourning the house ten minutes early. The DAP later release a statement that the three MPs left due to prior appointments.
