Follower is the title of a poem by Seamus Heaney, about how he admired and followed his father.
In this poem, Heaney talks about his father's plowing skills. He vividly describes his father's abilities and explains to his readers his admiration for his father. Heaney constantly labels himself as a burden to his father.
However, Heaney finishes the poem with a bit of irony. At the end of the poem, Heaney, who is now an adult, is now ahead of his father, claiming his father to be a burden upon him.
