[edit] Re [1]

If there are no legitimate edits to a page after an instance of vandalism, one can select the history tab on the page, select the last good version of the page prior to the vandalism, then edit and save this old version of the page without modifying it. The page will be reverted to the version you selected. A request for an administrator to block a vandal can be made on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Before vandals can be blocked, however, they must ordinarily be warned using appropriate templates. These templates, and additional information about countervandalism efforts, are described on Wikipedia:Vandalism. Thank you for reverting vandalism on Wikipedia. John254 23:11, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Category:Piano rock songs

Rather than add individual song articles to this category, it's better to add subcategories for the artist who recorded the songs (e.g. Category:Fiona Apple songs, Category:Vanessa Carlton songs) to it. Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 21:03, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Talk:Keane

With regards to your comments on Talk:Keane: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. "Do not make personal attacks anywhere in Wikipedia. Comment on content, not on the contributor. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users." Please keep this in mind while editing. Thanks. Dreaded Walrus 22:29, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

You're not going to get anywhere by resorting to personal attacks. I'm reminding you of your obligation to remain civil. This cannot begin to be solved when either or both sides are simply resorting to name calling. Please be patient, do not expect this to magically disappear. As your advocate, my official advice to you is to cool down a bit and behave appropriately. I cannot represent you well if you are doing the same thing you are complaining about others doing to you. In fact it would be very worthwhile for you to apologise to anyone to whom you have behaved rudely, and to take great care to act appropriately. I will do the best I can for you if you will do the best that you can, as well. Think of it as a favor to me. User:Pedant 11:29, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

I would like to make it aware that after I placed this warning on this page, Fluence apologised for the comment relating to me on the relevant page. The apology is accepted. --Dreaded Walrus 15:26, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Don't Worry

I'm still here and haven't left wikipedia forever! However I was just too busy the last month and so I didn't have time to even start my computer! But now I have time though not much so I can get back to wikipedia. Anyway what have you been doing? Victoria Eleanor 15:25, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Once again

Once again you have reverted an honest edit and called it "vandalism" because it changed stuff that YOU wrote. This is getting REALLY annoying now - the sad fact is that you have too many attitude problems and too little English language skill to be of any use here. The Mekon 02:49, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Calling edits vandalism

Edits such as this and on User talk:Mr. Scare, such as where that user removed this, are not vandalism. Calling them vandalism is inaccurate and just gets people agitated. Focus on content; there are other avenues for dealing with personal attacks and libellous information being added to articles. —Centrxtalk • 00:13, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

However, changing MY OWN EDITS on MY OWN USERPAGE absolutely IS vandalism, and is about your fifth case in as many days. The Mekon 00:17, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
OK, if you don't want to help I got no other choice. I just won't let Keane or its members to be offended--Fluence 00:25, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Flagrant vandalism

This is the only warning you will receive.
Your recent vandalism will not be tolerated. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

I don't know why I am adding this template, as it is apparently meaningless in this user's case. See User:The_Mekon's edit history, and talk pages related to Fluence. This has to stop. The Mekon 01:02, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Do not remove text from others' user pages. You will be blocked from editing if you continue. —Centrxtalk • 01:09, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

He's done it again, "anonymously". Could somebody PLEASE fix this? The Mekon 01:36, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
I wasn't for your information. Even though, I 'll return on Monday (Special:Contributions/Fluence)--Fluence 01:59, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
I was blocked due to a mistake. The last IP accused didn't belong to me but Procter & Gamble--Fluence 00:42, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
No, the IP address = ip-200-53-54-130-mx.marcatel.net.mx, a >Mexican< ISP. This was MINUTES after you said that you couldn't be helf responsible if "somebody" vandalised my page in the exact same way that you had just done three times. You are hilarious! Also, crossing out people's comments like so has to amount to some sort of pathetic, passive aggressive vandalism. The Mekon 08:11, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Hello Fluence. I really like Shakira, and am offended that you have put on your user page that you dislike this artist. What if Shakira were to read your user page? Think of how she would cry. Why would you want to make Shakira cry? You can be quite unkind, Fluence. Mr. Scare 11:41, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AMA Request

Hello I'm Aeon the deputy coordinator of the AMA. Please give me a brief run down of your problem. Æon Insanity Now!EA! 23:45, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Looking at the Metrons page it can be considered a racist comment I will get a SYSOP involved with that user about his page if my request for him to remove it doesn't pan out. The scare on the other hand there is not much that can be done due to the fact he is most unfortunatly intitled to his opinions. I will keep in touch. Æon Insanity Now!EA! 02:11, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

The Metron has modified the comment on his page it no longer makes a racist comment about people from Mexico. Æon Insanity Now!EA! 06:56, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] *sigh*

Now you're linking to MY user page when other people commit vandalism. You really are an unpleasant child. The Mekon 23:52, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Arrogance

I would suggest that you don't hastily tell people to "learn English before editing". I have been holding back on criticisms of your poor English skills, but if you're going to behave like that I will begin criticising you harshly, and heavily editing your contributions for the greater good. The Mekon 15:16, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Renaultmegane2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Renaultmegane2.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Sherool (talk) 09:15, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nice try

Close, but no cigar. The Mekon 02:38, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your remarks to another user

Regarding your remarks to The Mekon such as this and this:

Please do not taunt and provoke people even if they are really wrong. There indeed is a source now to verify that the single will be released on such-and-such a date. But you could have just calmly explained to him that "there is now a source for the information in the article, and so the AfD premise for deletion is no longer valid".

This message is just my two cents; I'm an uninvolved outsider, I have never edited anything related to this article until today. My point is: There is a civil way to be correct about things, and there is an incivil way to be correct about things. Try to keep a cool and calm posture. Regards, Kimchi.sg 05:40, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

By persistently re-creating the page without seeking consensus, you are being right - but in a silly way. On Wikipedia if you do right things in a silly way you might as well not do these things at all. Please seek consensus to undelete the page at deletion review. Kimchi.sg 16:48, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for being nice by putting it on deletion review... :-) I have given my opinion there.

And I should probably explain my use of the word "silly" in my previous reply - I really do not mean it to be insulting. It is just that doing things without consensus (basically "the support of others") is a bad ("silly") thing on Wikipedia. It is also the case in the real world but particularly obvious around this place. Kimchi.sg 17:15, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cars in Mexico

Would you like to help me make this into a featured article?? Thanks, --SunStar Net 11:38, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Problem in Mexican language

Hey there, I collect stamps and so I chanced upon a Mexican stamp but there is something written on it that I can't understand. It'd be great if you could help me in this. The lines are

'80 CTS CORREO AEREO MEXICO'

'Valleres De Impression De Estampillas Y Valores-Mexico'

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Tim2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Tim2.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Keane

Hi there. I reverted the edit you made to Keane, which replaced {{Infobox musical artist}} with {{Infobox band}}. As you'll see at Template:Infobox Band, the band template "is superseded by {{Infobox musical artist}}, which should be used in all instances to replace this template". —ShadowHalo 08:15, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks a million

Yeah... now it makes some sense. And yeah Muse is actually one of my favourite bands especially after their album Absolution. And their new album is really good especially Starlight.Victoria Eleanor 15:12, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
