[edit] Disparity between Zogby/WSJ and other polls (Jun/Jul 06)
There seems to be a consistent, significant (9-10%) disparity between the Zogby/WSJ polls and the others. Does anyone know why the figures, assuming the polls are honest, could be so different? --Flawiki 00:48, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- The fact is that these polls are all being done in different time periods and as the election comes closer (and the trappings thereof, i.e. campaign TV commercials and news reports) we can expect a definite shift in opinions almost daily. For instance, the last three polls were on June 21, 2006 (Zogby/WSJ), June 28, 2006 (Strategic Vision), and June 30, 2006 (Quinnipiac). If we had those three companies do concurrent polls to be released on July 25, 2006, we should expect more continuity of results. We should also remember that Zogby is a very respected poll company with an excellent track record, and the reason the WSJ is not showing us the questions is because they paid a lot of money to buy these poll results from Zogby. A normal person like me or you would have to spend at least $200 to get these surveys. So, Zogby is either pretty accurate and trusted, or they're lying to a whole lot of people who are apparently too stupid to look at the actual results of the elections for which they bought poll results. --Pygmalion58
