Florida State Road 715

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Known locally as Southwest 16th Street, Northwest 16th Street, and Bacom Point Road, State Road 715 is a 12-mile-long north-south route serving two cities on and near the southeastern shore of Lake Okeechobee in southern Florida. The southern terminus is an intersection with Palm Beach Road (SR 80) in Palm Beach County just south of Belle Glade; the northern terminus is an intersection with Lake Avenue (US 441/SR 15) in downtown Pahokee. In addition to skirting the western edge of Belle Glade, SR 715 passes by the Glades Correctional Institution as it heads due north, toward the Rim Canal at the eastern edge of the lake. After a few miles along Rim Canal, SR 715 veers “inland,” passing to the east of Palm Beach County-Glades Airport before entering Pahokee and terminating near the Pahokee City Hall. Motorists continuing along the lakeshore (on East Main Street) travel north on US 441/SR 15.
