Florida State Road 56

State Road 56 is a six lane highway three miles in length that runs from Bruce B. Downs Boulevard in South Wesley Chapel in the east to State Road 54 in Land O' Lakes in the west. It was opened on March 28, 2002 after a construction period spanning 3 years. It allows direct access to Interstate 75 two miles north of the northern terminus of Interstate 275.

An extension to US 301 in Zephyrhills is being planned by the Florida Department of Transportation, and has been part of the plan since the highway's conception.
