State Road 414 (SR 414), named Maitland Boulevard, is a state highway in the U.S. state of Florida. It is built to expressway standards, with no driveway access, at-grade intersections at minor roads, and interchanges at major roads.
The road was once numbered State Road 426A.
[edit] Future plans
An extension to the west is planned around the south side of Apopka and back to U.S. Highway 441 (SR 500). Originally known as the Apopka Bypass, this project is now the John Land Apopka Expressway or Maitland Boulevard Extension, a tollway to be owned and operated by the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority. It was named after Apopka mayor John Land in December 2005.[2]
The Expressway will connect to State Road 429 (Western Beltway) south of Apopka, where a new alignment of SR 429 will begin. Current SR 429 north of SR 414 will be renumbered SR 451.
In Phase 1 SR 414 will be elevated and begin just west of the Rose Avenue / Bear Lake Road intersection as a toll road, ending at SR 429/ SR 451. Traffic will automatically flow to/from what is currently the north section of SR 429, renumbered as SR 451. Motorists westbound on the new SR 414 desiring to travel south on the current SR 429 will need to use a new exit ramp onto County Road 437A (Orange County, Florida) and then onto southbound SR 429. Likewise, traffic northbound on the current SR 429 desiring to travel east on the new SR 414 will have to exit onto County Road 437A (Orange County, Florida) and then use the entrance ramp to eastbound SR 414. East to west, SR 414 will have interchanges with US 441, Hiawassee Road, Keene Road, County Road 437A (Orange County, Florida) and SR 429 / SR451. A mainline toll plaza featuring Open road tolling will be placed just west of Clarcona Road (Apopka-Vineland Road).
In Phase 2 SR 414 and SR 429 will run concurrent west and north on the rest of the bypass, meeting US 441 northwest of Plymouth-Sorrento Road (County Road 437) in Plymouth, Florida.
More distant plans for the Wekiva Parkway (SR 429) will continue the road beyond US 441, meeting Interstate 4 in Sanford.
