[edit] School Growth
F.C.S has more than 1,500 kids attending. Due to its large amount of students, the school has done hundreds of renovation projects to fit the number. Starting off with only one building, the school now has over 6 buildings. Each one holds hundreds of kids and are all conveniently next to each other. F.C.S has many bridges connecting each structure. Parking has becoming limited, due to the large amount of parents, teachers, and driving students, it has been difficult to control the amount of cars parking in areas they are not supposed to around the property. School access and building locations were all done very well, with plenty of signs and directories around the school.
[edit] Accreditation
Florida Christian School is accredited by The Florida Assosiation of Christian Schools and Colleges & The American Assosiation of Christian Schools and Colleges
[edit] Academics
Florida Christian School has great academics and a good amount of classes to choose from a private-Christian school. They offer different kinds of core classes such as: Math, History, English, Science and Bible. Electives are: Band, Art, Drama, Creative Writing, Home Economics, Computers, Journalism and some more.
[edit] Rules
Like any other school, Florida Christian has its own important set of rules for students. All students must comply with the hair code, dress code, and moral code to stay at F.C.S and not to receive any negative demerits. Students who do not comply with the rules are punished by: disciplinary refferals, (which bring demerits), Saturday Detention School, suspension, and even expulsion. Shirts must always stay tucked in with the school logo on the shirt and the AA Uniform® Company's tag on the back of the shorts, skorts, or pants.
[edit] Athletics
Florida Christian has one of the top athetic programs for a Christian school in all of Miami. F.C.S's "Patriots" have done well in all of its sports. This includes baseball, basketball, volleyball, and football.
[edit] Chapel
One of the greatest things at F.C.S is its chapel. For all grades, F.C.S has a great time of worship and bible-study. Middle School & High School experience worhip, video, and great sermons where they can learn much of the Bible at a new level, with games, video, and great new ways to interact with teenagers. Twice a year, F.C.S has a special-week called "Spiritual Emphasis Week". It is a one week in campus-school event where over 500 students gather for modern worship and a series of great sermons. Here, over 300 students make the decision to accept Jesus into their heart as Lord and Savior and choose eternal life.
[edit] Special Guests
Florida Christian has had many special guests visit. Florida's current governor, Jeb Bush filmed a scene with a fourth grade for his 2002 campaign commercial. On the set, he took pictures with students and parents. That same year, artists Rebecca St. James and Rachael Lampa appeared for a concert at the Florida Christian School Alumni Gymnasium. About two years later, Josh McDowell appeared as a special speaker in one of Florida Christian's middle school/high school chapels. Al Denson also came to spend a week at Florida Christian to help lead Spiritual Emphasis Week. Other special guests such as The Voices of Liberty, Perry and the Poor Boys, and Ken Freeman have come to visit.
