Florian Mayer

Florian Mayer (born October 5, 1983) is a professional male tennis player from Germany. On September 27, 2004 Mayer reached his career-high singles ranking: World No. 33. As of August 19, 2006, he is ranked No. 61 in the world, and is the No. 3 German, behind Tommy Haas and Nicolas Kiefer.

He has reached two ATP singles finals in his career: 2005 and 2006 Sopot (lost to Gael Monfils of France and Nikolay Davydenko of Russia, respectively).

At the 2004 Wimbledon Championships, he reached the quarterfinals, which is his best Grand Slam result to date. He was the ATP's Newcomer of the Year in 2004.
