Many other settlers followed, including the Torrey, Dye, Utley, Bristol, Miller and Carter families. Many of Flint Township's primary roads are named for these families. Eventually as many as ten school districts were created within the township; today only one, the Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools, remains.
