Breaking news
Jimbo Wales has announced that eleven of the twenty-two candidates who received at least 50 percent support will be appointed to the Arbitration Committee. Following the order of percentage of support, Filiocht, Charles Matthews, Morven, and current Arbitrator Mindspillage were appointed to tranche alpha, serving until December 2008. SimonP and Dmcdevit will join incumbents Raul654 and Neutrality in tranche gamma, serving until December 2007, and Sam Korn and Mackensen will join incumbents The Epopt and Theresa Knott in tranche beta, who will all serve until December 2006. In addition, in "the interests of expanding the committee and maintaining continuity", current Arbitrators James F., Fred Bauder, and Jayjg were also re-appointed; each of them gained significant community support, having greater than 50 percent support, but did not do well enough to place in the top eight percentage wise. James F. will serve until December 2008, while Bauder will serve until 2007 and JayJG will serve until 2006.
With the appointments, the size of the Arbitration Committee increased to 15. The new Arbitrators will take office on February 1.
