Flamengos, Cape Verde

Flamengos (Portuguese meaning Flemish from its origins, also in Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC and the São Vicente Crioulo) is a beach area and a coastline in the southwest of the island of São Vicente in Cape Verde. Flamengos is linked with only one 4WD road linking to the valley with São Pedro, Mindelo and the island's airport (São Vicente Airport). There is no road encircling the southern coast of the island but to Caixa. The area offers no panoramic views except for the southwesternmost point on the island.

The area features a beach unsafe for swimmers, its soil is podzol or black and volcanically originated. Rocks surround the coastline with a tall mountain to the west and more in the southeast featuring tiny rocky islets. A small valley lies to the north. Vegegation is very rare and only are founded in bushes sporadically in the lowest numbers of percentage. The nearest mountain is Caixa to the north.
