While this flag has not officially been adopted, it was first raised on December 14, 1980, upon the opening of the airport on Nuku Hiva, and has been regularly used since 1994.

This is a simplified form of the flag above. Since the Marquesas Islands do not have an official flag, such stylized alterations are equally valid as that shown above.
