A fjortis (sometimes spelled fjortiss, or sarcastically, 14tiss) is a negatively loaded term used in Norway and Sweden to describe teenagers, roughly between the age 11-18 and further. The term is independent of sex. A fjortis could be described as the Norwegian equivalent of a Chav, except wealthier.

Previously, "fjortis" was a neutral term describing anyone aged approximately 14. The stereotypical fjortis is early-to-midpubescant. Their behaviour is devoid of independent thought, which is readily apparent in their taste in music, alcohol consumption, and everyday attire.
