Fiske Terrace, Brooklyn
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fiske Terrace is a planned community and neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn.
Fiske Terrace is located in south central Brooklyn, south of the community of Flatbush, and north of (and sometimes considered a part of) the community of Midwood. It is bounded by Foster Avenue on the north, Ocean Avenue on the east, the Long Island Rail Road right-of-way on the south, and the Brighton Beach Line subway line on the west.
Fiske Terrace was developed with individually designed housing at the beginning of the 20th century by the T.B. Ackerson Company. The community is served by the Avenue H (formerly Fiske Terrace) station of the Brighton Beach Line, whose century-old station house was declared a landmark in 2004 by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.
