Fiorenzo Angelini

Fiorenzo Cardinal Angelini (born August 1, 1916 in Rome, Italy) is the President Emeritus of the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Health Care Workers within the Roman Curia.
He was ordained on 3 February 1940. On the 27 June 1956 Pope Pius XII appointed him Titular Bishop of Messene. On the 6 Janurary he was appointed an Auxiliary Bishop of Rome by Pope Paul VI. Pope John Paul II appointed him to be the first President of the new Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Health Care Workers. He became a Cardinal-Deacon of the S. Spirito in Sassia Roman Catholic Church on June 28, 1991.

On the 26 February 2002 he exercised the right after being ten years as a Cardinal Deacon to become a Cardinal Priest. He retired as President of Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Health Care Workers on 31 December 1996.
