"...the 12 stars of the EU...". The EU has 15 countries (and stars.) Perhaps this should refer to the monetary union, rather than the EU itself? - Molinari 01:02 3 Jul 2003 (UTC)
There are twelve stars. The idea that the number of stars on the flag corresponds to the number of countries in the union is a myth believed by those unable to count.
