The official English name should be used here instead of the Finnish name. Thus Finnish House of Nobility /Teuton 12:02, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Oppose the proposed name. Not sufficient evidence to support the proposal. It is not vital how some wants to be called in English. No one can officially force the others how to use English about that one. Ukrainian government has OFFICIALLY decreed that their capital city is Kyiv in English, and has lost its battle here in en-WP. Suedois 00:42, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Support Ritarihuone officially uses "Finnish House of Nobility" as its English name. I called them and verified it and suggest you do the same. Do not invent new names on wikipedia.

Ritarihuone is not the official name in Finland either, it is Ridderhus. Therefore you are wrong also. As well, if you need to call the Ridderhus up to verify information, you are not in the position to post anything that would be considered accurate here. As I am of Finnish nobility myself, I do not appreciate your selfish efforts and petty arguments. The whole list of baronies and counties of Finland on this site is wrong. The baronies as well as the names of the nobility they were awarded to were originally in Swedish and therefore the Finnish 'names' posted here on Wikipedia are also invented. This whole mess is another example of the marginalisation of Swedish speaking Finns in Finland who may be of nobility. This nonsense is to systematically erase any accurate information about, and in turn, evidence of the existence of the Finnish Nobility, and to justify the illegal comfiscation of land and title that rightfully belongs to the Finnish Nobility. There is a Finnish law on the House of Nobility, written in both Finnish and Swedish, from 1919. The name used in the said law is "Ritarihuone" in Finnish and "Riddarhuset" in Swedish. Both Finnish and Swedish are official languages in Finland. The English name used by Ritarihuone / Riddarhuset, is "Finnish House of Nobility". Maybe the correct thing would be to quote both the Swedish and the Finnish name of the House. The names of persons, however, cannot be translated into Finnish. Teuton 18:37, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
