Finderne (NJT station)

Finderne or Manville-Finderne was a New Jersey Transit railroad station on the Raritan Valley Line, in Bridgewater, New Jersey. The station, which formerly housed a small building between the tracks, had been without facilities for some time prior to its closure. It is accessible by a stairway from the Finderne Ave bridge, which connects Manville, New Jersey to the Finderne area of Bridgewater, New Jersey. The bridge goes over the Raritan River and the stairway is on the west side of the road on the north bank of the river. The station had very infrequent service with only three stops on weekdays and no stops on the weekends.

The three stops were:

6:09 AM train from Newark Penn Station arriving at 6:55 AM in Finderne
3:45 PM train to Newark Penn Station
4:18 PM train to Newark Penn Station

Train conductors have confirmed to the curious that there were in fact passengers who used the stop; mostly employees of a nearby industrial plant.

Starting with the October 29, 2006 train schedule, train service to Finderne was terminated. The last train to service Finderne was the 4:18 PM train to Newark Penn Station on October 27. New Jersey Transit recommends the Scoot Bus Shuttle as an alternative.
