[edit] Well Hello there!
Just popped over to see what you had been up to, and I see you haven't had "You have new messages" for a while, so thought I would rectify that for you! Otherwise all seems borring and quiet on the wiki. Thanks for the vote at Buckingham Palace, it must stick in the whatsit of an Irishman to vote for such a symbol of oppression and establoishment. I had forgotten about the bloody place (not my finest moment, twice!) untill Aloan renominated it, but it seems better received now, allthugh to be honest I can't see a great deal of difference, but Aloan has moved things about a little, so that's obviously done the trick. - Indeed you were, I've just had to grovel on Aloan's page as I had basically told him it was a waste of time. Humble pie has never been my favourite dish; anyway I have something now far more egalitarian in the pipeline, and Grutness has just uploaded some great fotos for it, so life ison the up. Glad to see your having some more visitors now! Giano | talk 30 June 2005 08:40 (UTC)

[edit] Cummings
Thank you for your assistance in resolving the dispute over the article for E. E. Cummings. Though I have attempted to stay civil, the editing of something as small as language style has somehow provoked the user to a level of dispute he claims to not have engaged in before. This seems to me rather bizarre, and I would guess that largely he is trying to treat the page as his creation to lord over. In any case, please keep me informed as to the hows, wheres, and whys of conflict resolution as I have never had to participate in any such case.
You responded to Chameleon's comments inquisitively. The answer is that in the midst of a recurring edit war over a long period in the Noam Chomsky article, I made some largely innocuous edits at which point Chameleon accused me of being a sockpuppet, blamed me for his own mistake, and suggested I was acting as other "anti-Chomskyites" who have attempted to "destroy" the article in the past (though there was no comment on the content). Since then, in response to my criticism of someone else's criticism of the article in general, he told the user to "feel free to ignore" my "attacks". My attacks. So apparently, "sadly" reflects his desire to see me punished for something because of my apparent effrontery in having not conformed to his expectations and presumptuously editing an article that he lords over.
The level of maturity in many instances of this site is not encouraging, though I have had better experiences with other users. --TJive June 29, 2005 11:30 (UTC)
- Thank you for changing the Cummings article to American English. I had done this on one occasion and he became upset by it and we had a debate on his discussion page, in which he said British English is the only proper form. Odd thing, though, is that he is an American. I tried to tell him that subjects that are American should use American grammar but he attacked that form as incorrect, and that British English is the only correct usage of English. There's really no reasoning with him. GreatGatsby 30 June 2005 07:29 (UTC)

- Filiocht, do keep me informed as to what method you believe what be most appropriate to get this resolved, as again I do not know the customs of this stage and I do not believe the user wishes to budge an inch. Thanks. --TJive July 1, 2005 02:50 (UTC)
[edit] Not your concern
Motions and requests by the parties
Why have I been included in a Request for Arbitration against KaintheScion and ElKabong?
I am not either. I do not use sockpuppets nor am I a sockpuppet.Enviroknot 03:22, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)
After further reflection and seeing the hateful and wrong comments left by others regarding me, I formally REJECT this kangaroo court. Do what you will. I know you for what you are, hateful, horrid people who have no interest in the truth.Enviroknot 03:32, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)
None of them have bothered to respond to me. None of them have so much as sent me a single message. None have, apparently, even bothered to read my defense.
It's a kangaroo court, nothing more.Enviroknot 29 June 2005 12:51 (UTC)
- Even funnier, comments by others on the Talk page were conveniently blanked out. The whole thing is beyond ridiculous.Enviroknot 29 June 2005 12:53 (UTC)
[edit] Hardbanning Geogre
Oh, it gets better, there's no need for a hard ban. Block expiry and unblock got disabled in the upgrade, ooops... meaning, any block is now in practice an indefinite hard ban! See warning on Special:Blockip (scroll down a little). Fil, my prettytable list version is now considerably less ugly, check it out! It's meant to go with {{virtuestubs}} on the works, bodged up from the material now on List of books with the subtitle "Virtue Rewarded". What do you think? Which version would you rather feature? Bishonen | talk 29 June 2005 15:10 (UTC)
[edit] Prettytable
Really, you like that version? Hmmm. I'm on the fence. I just read Irish Hospitality, or,..—well, I skipped Acts 2, 3, and 4 (that may be why the plot looks a little static when I describe it)—anyway, I put a bit into the non-table list about the Irish squirarchy's lumpish obsession with creature comforts. You'll say it's a pity to jettison golden prose like that—but it's such an untidy list. Difficult. Oh, well, I'll start seeing to them stubs. Bishonen | talk 29 June 2005 18:49 (UTC)
[edit] Good morning
No reason beyond noticing that you had just archived and need filling up once more.—Theo (Talk) 30 June 2005 08:38 (UTC)
[edit] African-American literature
You and Geogre raised some good issues about African-American literature and I've tried to address them. Do my changes work for you? Also, what do you think about my suggestion of putting some of the extra info about Toomer in the Harlem Renaissance article? My complete comments are at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/African-American literature. I really want to get this article to featured article status, so any more help you can give is appreciated.--Alabamaboy 30 June 2005 11:02 (UTC)
[edit] thanks!
Hi Filiocht, thanks for the support of my RfA. It means alot to me to get positive feedback from editors I respect, especially from those with diametrically opposite worldviews =). I'll do my best to responsibly use my new admin powers! --Spangineer (háblame) July 4, 2005 03:57 (UTC)
[edit] Please stick around! Have a sundae!
It's great to see you back, even if you're only back light, by the looks of it. Please stick around! Have some ice cream! Bishonen | talk 19:05, 13 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Novelists on the main page
Congratulations on George Moore staring out at us from the main page (and brace yourself for the editing flood that follows such an honor)! It looks great. Geogre 10:24, 15 July 2005 (UTC) P.S. Since everyone else brought food, I suppose I should, too. Ok, so here is the main course. You don't mind plucking and cooking it, I hope. Geogre 10:27, 15 July 2005 (UTC)
Great stuff; I love a good bunfight. Filiocht | Talk 10:58, July 15, 2005 (UTC)
- Ok, so what do vegetarians eat? Is this appropriate? It looks tasty. (I never knew where Vegetarians came from before. I thought it was the planet Vegus.) (Here in the South, we insist that our food fight back or at least try to run away.) Geogre 13:00, 15 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Poor Irish poet
You guys have too much whitespace, no tact, no finesse, and no memory. This is the true portrait of Filiocht. Have a slice of cake! Bishonen | talk 13:09, 18 July 2005 (UTC)
