Talk:Fiji national rugby union team
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Somebody from Fiji told me that the reason his country has had comparatively little rugby success on the international scene is that Fijians generally prefer to play sevens and are thus just not up to the international level in union. Can anyone comfirm/elaborate on this? Stilgar135 21:28, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- There is probably some truth to this; in that Fiji have found a lot of success in sevens. They (most likely) will be champions in the current World Sevens series. In saying that, they are up to international level in normal rugby as well. They lost to Wales by only one point or something at the end of last year, I'd say they are probably 8 in the world or something like that. Hopefully saomeone can better answer your question.
