Figueirense Futebol Clube, also known as Figueirense, is a Brazilian football team in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina.

  • 1921 Founded as Figueirense Foot-ball Club.
  • 1932 The team won their first state championship.
  • 1935-1937 Three times in a row Catarinense champion.
  • 1939 One more state championship won by Figueirense, and end of the Golden Decade of the club.
  • 1972 End of the 30-year state championship titleless period.
  • 1973 First team of Santa Catarina state in Campeonato Brasileiro.
  • 1974 The team won Campeonato Catarinense again.
  • 1987 The club plays at Campeonato Catarinense Second Division, and won promotion to the First Division.
  • 1994 End of the 17-year state championship titleless period.
  • 1995 Champion of Torneio Mercosul (not to be confused with Copa Mercosur) at Santa Catarina. It was the club's first (and only) international title.
  • 2001 Runner-up of Campeonato Brasileiro Second Division. Promoted to the First Division.
  • 2002-2004 Three times in a row Campeonato Catarinense champion.

  • The club is named Figueirense after the neighbourhood where it is located, in Centro neighborhood) [1]. Figueirense means "from Figueira".
  • In 2002, Rivaldo's and César Sampaio's company, called CSR Esporte & Marketing, and Figueirense signed a partnership. The company was responsible for the administration of the professional football of Figueirense. The partnership ended in 2004.
  • Figueirense was one of the founders of the defunct Liga Catharinense de Desportos Terrestres, organized on April 12, 1923.
