[edit] Table missing Leônidas and Wilimowski

Any way of making the numbers automatic so they don't all have to be changed...? --ChaChaFut 04:45, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Nope, unfortunately... Daniel.Bryant 07:17, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] On the FIFA release

First of all, the list on Page 2 misses the hat-trick by Josef Hügi in 1954.

Secondly about the "debut hat-trick" of Harry Andersson or Gustav Wetterström. That was definitely not the debut by Gustav Wetterström, as he played during qualifying [1]. As for Harry Andersson, from the official FIFA records he scored only one goal; however, RSSSF listed him as scoring three, taking two goals away from Tore Keller [2]. I haven't seen the Hugi hat-trick cited anywhere - can you please provide some evidence that FIFA, not anyone else, credit him with three goals during the match - as the lead states, As FIFA is the governing body of football (soccer), official hat-tricks are only noted when FIFA recognises that at least three goals were scored by one player in the one match. This same applies with Harry Andersson - FIFA don't recognise him, therefore he isn't included. However, I agree with you on the Wetterström point - that was an oversight. The official FIFA match report [3] said Hugi scored three, not to mention Page 1 of the FIFA release, under the section "Hat trick for losing side". Chanheigeorge 07:32, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Ah, I didn't see him in that section. Makes you wonder how accurate the list on page 2 is... Thanks for that. Daniel.Bryant T · C ] 08:02, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] FIFA confirms two more hat-tricks

See here [4]. Chanheigeorge 22:22, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Wow. I'll add them to the table, in about 12 hours - unless you want to do it :). Daniel.Bryant T · C ] 22:39, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

One player have scored a hat-trick on his international debut: Guillermo Stábile (1930). I suppose what we mean to say here is that Stabile is the only one to do this while making his international debut in a world cup match. Are we sure that nobody else has scored a hattrick while making their debut in a non-WC match ? Tintin (talk) 18:05, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Ah, yes. Good point, again :) Daniel.Bryant T · C ] 22:37, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
