[edit] Name etymology

  1. Take the word "Fire", and swap the last two letters.
  2. Realize that "Fire" and "Fier" are pronounced the same way. But if you pronounce it "Fie-R" there's a slight difference. Spelling it "Fieare" forces this pronunciation.
  3. Repeat the process one more time for the heck of it, and pronounce it "Fiear-E". Replacing the last E with an I forces this pronunciation.

[edit] Personal Milestones

Not that I have editcountitis or anything, but a personal milestone for me has been the accumulation of 500 edits, since that was the requirement to vote for the Board of Directors. I achieved my 500th edit at 16:27, on December 17, 2005.

My next personal milestone is to kick the habit of editing without previewing, which causes me to edit numerous times in rapid succession... oops! Very bad habit. Trying to kick it. Still not successful. Bad habits die hard.

[edit] Declaration of Personal Biases

I would like to declare forthrightly right here, on my user page, that I am biased in favor of Perverted-Justice.com, and think they do an awesome and amazing work. Otherwise, I am unrelated to their organization, other than editing the wikipedia article about them. Despite my bias, I promise to do my best to uphold the principles of wikipedia, including WP:NPOV. Because of my bias, I will ruthlessly confront POV edits that go against my own POV, of course, but I uphold that this is how it should be... likewise, those against my POV should confront any edits I make that are POV. Despite our biases, we should all strive for NPOV, and to do that, we hold each other accountable.

Furthermore, I am a Non-Denominational Christian, with Charismatic leanings.

I believe in the supernatural. That doesn't mean I believe in most of the things Parapsychologists (wackos?) believe. In my estimation, the supernatural is far more subtle than that, and in my estimation, most people claiming most psychic powers are probably using tricks or slight of hand.

[edit] Areas I'm active in

I check out WP:FAC quite a bit, mostly for finding the obvious stuff... checking for references, checking the size of the lead, checking image usage, and skimming for "brilliant prose". I try to be as specific as possible when making objections. However, I do find it occasionally difficult to remember all the articles I've reviewed and left objections on, so if you've fixed a problem I commented on, please leave a message on my talk page so I'm alerted and can re-review the issue.
