Fiction Plane is a pop-rock band from England featuring lead singer Joe Sumner, the son of famed musician Sting. In 2001, they recorded their first demo called Swings and Roundabouts. This led to them changing their name from Santa's Boyfriend to Fiction Plane and recording their first official album, Everything Will Never Be OK, with MCA records. The album was released in 2002 in England and March 2003 in the United States with the single "Hate". They subsequently released the EP Bitter Forces and Lame Race Horses on July 11, 2005.
The band's members are Joe Sumner (lead vocals and guitar), Seton Daunt (guitar), Dan Brown (bass guitar, keyboard, backing vocals), and Pete Wilhoit (drums). Abe Laboriel Jr. (drums) also played with the group, when they recorded their demo.
