[edit] Neologism
This is an interesting subject, but the title appears to be a neologism - all of 7 Google hits for "festive ecology", of which only one is relevant - a 2002 UK report that cites the first reference given here. It seems that John Box's terminology hasn't caught on. Perhaps someone could suggest a sensible merge target? (Human ecology sounds plausible, although that article needs expansion.) All words have to start somewhere - and this phrase goes back to 1995 which is quite a long time. Ecologists are fairly conservative about matters that are on the borders of their discipline - but the topic is being dealt with scientifically and has good references. A merge with human ecology is not the right place as festive ecology is more to do with animals and plants than humans. John Box 22:22, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
