Greetings and salutations.

My name is Joe. I'm an MA History student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I'm originally from Joliet, IL, where I was born and lived until earlier this year. I graduated from Joliet Central High School in 2001 and from the University of Saint Francis in 2005.

My primary interest is reading, mainly history and science fiction. I have a pretty respectable library for someone with my age and income, though I'm always acquiring more books, a frighteningly respectable movie collection, and a decidedly meager CD collection. I also like light hiking outdoors, viewing historical sites, being on water (but not in it), and many other things to be mentioned later.

My favorite authors are Alastair Reynolds, Harry Turtledove, J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Chuck Palahniuk, Patrick O'Brian, David Sedaris, and others. My favorite media distractions include Star Trek, The Simpsons, Lost, Firefly, High Fidelity, Office Space, and, again, many others.
