The Fernmeldeturm Mannheim is a 204.8 metre high concrete telecommunication tower with an observation deck at Mannheim. It was designed from the architects Heinle, Wischer und Partner and constructed between 1973 and 1975. This modern monument of Mannheim contains besides transmission facilities for UHR radio services and omnidirectional radio services a glassed observation deck and a revolving restaurant in a height of 120 metres, which allows a nice view over Mannheim and the surrounding area.

In December 1994 a helicopter of the Army collided with the top of the tower and fell to ground. All four people in the helicopter died. At this accident parts of the top of the tower were damaged and fell to ground.
