Fenoldopam is a synthetic compound that acts as a dopamine D1 receptor agonist. Fenoldopam is used as an antihypertensive agent. It lowers blood pressure through arteriolar vasodilation, decreasing afterload and also through specific dopamine receptors along the nephron promoting sodium excretion.
