Fenny Stratford railway station is a railway station that serves the Fenny Stratford area of Milton Keynes. It is located on the Bletchley-Bedford Marston Vale line.

The station is served by Silverlink County local services from Bletchley to Bedford. Services are operated using Class 150/1 diesel multiple units. This station is one of the five stations serving Milton Keynes. The others are Wolverton, Milton Keynes Central, Bletchley and Bow Brickhill.

[edit] Details and History

Fenny Stratford Station is currently un-staffed, with no ticketing facilities. Passengers are required to purchase tickets from Silverlink staff on-board. Immediately to the west after the bridge carrying the V4 Watling Street (formerly the A5) there is a point connecting with a branch leading onto the freight only Oxford line via the Bletchley flyover. The passenger line and station are protected here by a catchpoint, however it is badly sighted and any runaway train caught by it would subsequently crash into the bridge. Fenny Stratford has a black and white station building now in private ownership. The building is one of a number like it on the line but unlike any anywhere else. Until the mid 1960s Fenny had two platforms and a number of sidings, however all that is now present is a single plaform and a lot of wasteland to the east of the station before the level crossing. The signalbox here was taken out of use in 2005.
